AI systems generate language by predicting which words statistically follow other words. The word "fire" appears near "hospital" and "burned" often enough that an AI can tell you fire is dangerous.
But knowing that pattern is not the same as knowing the feeling — the searing, immediate, bodily understanding that comes from actually touching a flame.
